TERNUA, THE FW 20/21 COLLECTION PROTECTS THE PLANET AND PEOPLE

Through a digital appointment, as done for the SS21 campaign, Ternua presented its collection for next winter. The aspects on which the brand has focused are mainly two: protecting the planet and people.On the one hand, Ternua protects the environment in many ways, such as the use of biodegradable antibacterial treatments and recycled materials such as carpets, fishing nets, PET, plastic collected from the sea, feathers, coffee grounds, wool and latxa sheep’s wool ( originally from the Basque Country, like the company), disused garments and walnut shells. Since 2018, the first Spanish outdoor brand to do so, each of its collections is PFC-free and linked to the “Commitment” logo, which certifies the production of the garments through the use of certified, recycled, natural and biodegradable Bluesign materials. Furthermore, Ternua promotes unique projects that are present across all lines (Redcycle, Colorcycle, Seacycle and Artileshell), combining technicality, design and circular economy.

 

On the other hand, however, Ternua protects people through an offer of garments and accessories that meet the needs of the different targets of the brand. They range from the Japanese ambassador Kazuya Hiraide, a mountaineer who needs performance at the highest levels, to the common people for whom, together with Polygiene, a line of products with the Viraloff treatment, the first in the world that reduces, together with others , also the SARS-CoV-2 virus (generator of Covid-19). A collection that includes, in addition to masks, gloves and padding made with elastic, water-repellent and anti-odor fabric, also two models of wool hats made in the Hushé Valley (Pakistan), for a project that will help local women to create a cooperative that then, having its own income, it will be able to promote women’s emancipation on the spot. Ternua will contribute to the feasibility of the initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Baltistán foundation, by marketing their products in its various markets.

On the sidelines remain the more technical Protech and Adrenalite lines, the Trekking line that incorporates new colors and models of trousers and the Spirit Outdoors line with a renewed design.
